How to Contact USCIS About Your U Visa Case

Choose the right USCIS contact channel, gather what you need, and use the clearly labeled phone numbers, addresses, or representative emails below.

Choose the right contact method

U visa cases have special confidentiality protections. USCIS must confirm your identity and that it can release case information to you. If Form I-918 shows little or no information online, that does not mean USCIS lost your case.

Before you contact USCIS

Prepare these items so USCIS can verify you and understand the exact request.

Do not post receipt numbers, A-Numbers, full birth dates, home addresses, or immigration documents in public comments or social media.

If you do not have a representative, call, send a secure account message, or mail a signed inquiry.

What online case status can tell you

Case Status Online reports on the receipt number you enter. If you enter the receipt number for a related Form I-765, the result is only about that work-permit application. It is not the status of your Form I-918 U visa petition. If your I-918 receipt produces no useful result, call USCIS or send a secure message using the options above.

For an address change, tell USCIS every form that needs a new address. Updating one form does not automatically update the others. If the Contact Center cannot complete your request, USCIS may schedule an in-person appointment. Contacting USCIS does not move your case ahead in line or guarantee new case information.
