UVisaStatus.com
Privacy Policy
Effective: August 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how UVisaStatus.com handles information when you use the U visa calculator, read news or guides, participate in comments, or contact us. In this policy, “UVisaStatus.com,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the operator of the website at uvisastatus.com.
1. Information we handle
Information you choose to provide
- Calculator date. The receipt or filing date you enter is sent to our server to generate your estimate. The calculator does not ask for your name, A-Number, USCIS receipt number, email address, or immigration documents. We do not save the date in our application database or associate it with a user account.
- Public comments. If comments are available and you post one, we collect the display name, comment text, language, article and reply relationship, and submission time. Your display name and comment are public. Please do not post case numbers, addresses, contact details, immigration documents, or other sensitive information.
- Comment reports. If you report a comment, we store the comment involved, the reason you select, and the time of the report so it can be reviewed.
- Messages. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you include in the message.
Information processed automatically
- Request and security data. Like most hosted websites, our hosting and security provider processes technical data such as IP address, request URL, date and time, browser or device information, approximate country or network information, and security events. This is used to deliver and protect the site and diagnose failures.
- Bot verification. Comment and report forms use Cloudflare Turnstile. When the widget is displayed, Cloudflare processes browser and device signals, IP address, user agent, operating-system and browser details, approximate country, the website hostname, timestamps, and a short-lived verification token to distinguish people from abusive automated traffic. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary security cookies for this purpose.
- Font delivery. Your browser requests the site’s typefaces from Google Fonts. Google receives the IP address needed to return the files, the requested resource, user-agent and other HTTP headers, and the referring page. Google states that Google Fonts does not use this information to create end-user profiles or for targeted advertising.
- Site analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand visits and improve the site. Its default measurement can collect page views, session and interaction data, approximate location, browser and device information, and a random client identifier stored in first-party cookies.
We do not display third-party advertising on the site or sell personal information.
2. How we use information
We use information only as reasonably necessary to:
- calculate and return the timeline you request;
- publish, organize, secure, and moderate comments on news and guides;
- respond to messages and privacy requests;
- prevent spam, abuse, fraud, and security incidents;
- maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of the site; and
- comply with law and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the site and others.
3. When we disclose information
- Public comments. A comment’s display name, text, reply position, and posting time are visible to other visitors.
- Service provider. We use Cloudflare to host and deliver the site, store site data in D1, protect forms with Turnstile, and provide network security. Cloudflare processes information on our behalf and under its own applicable terms. You can review Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy and its cookie documentation.
- Font provider. Google delivers the fonts used by the site and receives the technical request data described above. Review the Google Fonts privacy FAQ and Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Analytics provider. Google processes the analytics information described above to provide us with site-usage reports. Review Google’s Analytics privacy and data safeguards.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may preserve or disclose information if we reasonably believe it is required by applicable law or valid legal process, or necessary to investigate abuse, protect rights or safety, or secure the site.
We do not sell personal information, rent mailing lists, or disclose personal information for targeted advertising.
4. How long we keep information
- The calculator date is not saved in our application database after the response is generated.
- Public comments generally remain until they are removed. If a removed comment has replies, we may keep a blank thread marker while deleting its display name and text.
- Comment reports, moderation records, correspondence, and technical records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including security, dispute resolution, and legal obligations.
- Cloudflare and Google keep provider data according to their settings and policies.
5. Your choices and privacy rights
- You may use the news pages without posting a comment and may choose not to email us.
- You can block or delete analytics cookies using your browser settings or use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- You may ask us to remove a comment you posted. Include the article URL, display name, approximate date, and enough detail for us to identify the comment.
- Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to appeal a decision about a request. We will not discriminate against you for making a valid request.
Send requests to [email protected]. We may need to verify that a request relates to you. Because the site does not require public accounts and intentionally keeps little identifying information, we may be unable to connect anonymous technical data or a calculator request to a particular person.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
The site does not track your activity over time across unaffiliated websites and does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. For that reason, browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals do not change the site’s current behavior. Strictly necessary hosting and security processing still occurs.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect the limited information handled by the site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children’s privacy
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
8. International processing
UVisaStatus.com is operated in the United States. Cloudflare and Google operate globally, so information may be processed in the United States and other countries where they or their service providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws from the country where you live.
9. External links and sharing tools
News articles link to outside sources. The share button uses your browser or device’s built-in sharing or clipboard feature; we do not receive your contact list or learn where you share the link. External websites, apps, and platforms have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.
10. Changes to this policy
We will revise this policy as the site changes. The effective date at the top will show when it was last updated. If a change is material, we may also provide a prominent notice on the site. If we plan to use previously collected information in a materially different way, we will provide any additional notice or choice required by law.
11. Contact us
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].
