About U Visa Status
Thousands of people are waiting on a U visa right now, and most of them have no reliable way to find out what is happening.
Information exists. It is just scattered everywhere. A Facebook group with four thousand members and no moderation. A WhatsApp thread where a rumor from last spring is still circulating as fact. A forum post from two years ago that was never updated. An agency bulletin written for attorneys that nobody translated. People already carrying an enormous amount of stress end up doing the work of a researcher, night after night, just to find out whether anything has changed.
U Visa Status exists to end that search.
U Visa Status has become the leading source of U visa news, and the first place a growing number of applicants check. One site, updated as things happen, where the news, the numbers, and the policy changes all live together. If it matters to U visa applicants and holders, it should be here, and you should not have to go looking anywhere else to find it.
What we stand for
Accuracy above everything. We report what is verifiable and we cite where it came from. If we do not know something, we say we do not know. If we get something wrong, we correct it in the open. In a community where a single bad rumor can send thousands of people into panic, being right matters more than being first.
No agenda. We are not advocates for a policy position and we are not selling anything. We do not shade coverage to make things look better or worse than they are. Immigration is one of the most politicized subjects in the country, and the people living inside the process deserve at least one place that simply tells them what is happening.
Written for the person it affects. Not for lawyers, not for policy analysts. Plain language, in English and Spanish, because that is who reads us.
No fear for clicks. There is enough fear in this process already. We will never inflate a story to draw traffic, and we will never promise good news that has not arrived.
The Wait Estimator
Alongside the news, we built a tool that answers the question everyone actually has: where am I in this line?
Enter the receipt date from your I-918 and the estimator shows you where your case sits relative to what is currently being processed. It is an estimate and not a promise, and no one can tell you the exact day your case will move. What it gives you is a real sense of your position instead of a blank screen and a status page that has not changed in eighteen months.
Where we are going
We want U Visa Status to be the place this community relies on, and the place that new applicants are pointed toward on their first day in the process. That means covering more, translating more, and building more tools that answer the questions people are actually asking.
